Wigan 3D Printing Bureau

This is the one page where we are not “serving” the area — we are in it. HSK 3D LTD’s FDM 3D printing bureau is in Wigan, and every part we make is printed here, whether it is going to Standish or to Southampton.

For Wigan businesses that mainly means short lines of communication: the person who reads your enquiry is the person who prints the part.

Capabilities at a glance

Everything below happens in the Wigan workshop:

Process
FDM (fused deposition modelling)
Materials
  • PLA — Display pieces, models and indoor parts where crisp detail and colour matter more than heat resistance.
  • PETG — The general-purpose workhorse — tougher than PLA, handles moisture and moderate heat, good for functional parts.
  • ASA — Outdoor and vehicle parts. UV-stable and weather-resistant, so it will not go brittle or fade in sunlight.
  • TPU — Flexible parts — gaskets, bumpers, grips, protective sleeves and anything that needs to bend or absorb impact.
Max build size
420 × 420 × 500 mm — large parts in a single piece
Colours
Up to 8 colours in a single part
File formats
STL, STEP and 3MF
Job types
One-off prototypes and repeat production runs
Turnaround
3–5 working days for standard jobs. Lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.

Work from around the borough

The borough kept its industrial estates long after the pits and mills closed, and the businesses on them — food manufacturing, distribution, light engineering, trades — generate exactly the sort of jobs a print bureau is for. A replacement part a supplier stopped making years ago. A fixture for a new packing line. Fifty identical brackets by the end of the week. A prototype of something a local inventor has been sketching on the back of envelopes.

Delivery around Wigan

We are a workshop rather than a shop, so there is no counter to walk up to. Parts for Wigan addresses — Ashton-in-Makerfield, Hindley, Ince, Orrell, Standish, Leigh, Atherton, Tyldesley, Golborne — are sent by courier like everywhere else, with the cost included in your quote.

How working with us works

Being local does not change the process, but it does shorten it. The steps are:

  1. Send your file

Upload an STL, STEP or 3MF file through the quote form, with the quantity, material and colours you want.

  2. Get a quote

We check the design will print well and send a price, including delivery. Nothing is printed until you agree.

  3. We print it

Your parts are printed in FDM in our Wigan workshop, from the files you approved.

  4. Post-processing

Supports are removed and each part is cleaned up and checked before it is packed.

  5. Delivery

Finished parts go out by courier to your address.

Prototypes and production from the same bench

Most new parts go through a prototype or two before the design is fixed. Because both stages happen in the same Wigan workshop, using the same files, the production batch is a faithful copy of the part you approved rather than a reinterpretation by a different supplier.

Wigan print bureau FAQs

Can I drop in to the workshop?

We are not set up for walk-in visitors — there is no trade counter. Send your enquiry through the quote form or by email and we will pick it up from there, usually faster than a visit would be.

Can you print a large part in one go?

Yes, up to 420 × 420 × 500 mm in a single piece. That is big enough for most enclosures, trays, guards and display stands to come off the printer whole.

Do you do repeat production runs?

Yes. Once you have approved a part, repeat runs are printed from the same files so every batch matches. Tell us roughly how many and how often, and lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.

Which file types do you accept?

STL, STEP and 3MF. If you only have a photo or a sketch, mention it in your enquiry — we will tell you what else we need.
