3D Printing Bureau Serving the North West

The North West is where we are. Our FDM print bureau is in Wigan, roughly midway between Manchester and Liverpool, which puts most of the region within easy reach of a courier. We take prototype and production work from businesses, designers and individuals across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria.

Capabilities at a glance

For North West customers comparing bureaus, these are the numbers that matter:

Process
FDM (fused deposition modelling)
Materials
  • PLA — Display pieces, models and indoor parts where crisp detail and colour matter more than heat resistance.
  • PETG — The general-purpose workhorse — tougher than PLA, handles moisture and moderate heat, good for functional parts.
  • ASA — Outdoor and vehicle parts. UV-stable and weather-resistant, so it will not go brittle or fade in sunlight.
  • TPU — Flexible parts — gaskets, bumpers, grips, protective sleeves and anything that needs to bend or absorb impact.
Max build size
420 × 420 × 500 mm — large parts in a single piece
Colours
Up to 8 colours in a single part
File formats
STL, STEP and 3MF
Job types
One-off prototypes and repeat production runs
Turnaround
3–5 working days for standard jobs. Lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.

A regional bureau, not a portal

Some online print services pass your file on to a network of third-party printers. With us, a file sent to a print bureau in the North West is printed in the North West, by the people who quoted it. If a question comes up about tolerances, orientation or which material to use, it gets answered by someone who has actually looked at your part.

Towns across the region

We serve the whole region by courier, including:

  • Preston, Blackburn, Burnley and Lancaster to the north
  • Warrington, Chester and Crewe to the south
  • St Helens, Southport and the Wirral to the west
  • Bolton, Bury, Oldham and Stockport around Manchester
  • Carlisle, Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria

How working with us works

Working with a regional bureau is straightforward. From file to delivery:

  1. Send your file

Upload an STL, STEP or 3MF file through the quote form, with the quantity, material and colours you want.

  2. Get a quote

We check the design will print well and send a price, including delivery. Nothing is printed until you agree.

  3. We print it

Your parts are printed in FDM in our Wigan workshop, from the files you approved.

  4. Post-processing

Supports are removed and each part is cleaned up and checked before it is packed.

  5. Delivery

Finished parts go out by courier to your address.

Iterate quickly, then scale

Being in the same region makes iteration easier. Print a prototype, test it, mark up what needs to change and send the revised file back; each round of a standard job is turned around in 3–5 working days. When the design is settled, the production run is printed from those same files, and lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.

North West print bureau FAQs

Which parts of the North West do you cover?

All of it — Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria. We print in Wigan and send finished parts out by courier, with the delivery cost included in your quote.

Can you produce repeat runs of the same part?

Yes. Once a part has been printed and approved, repeat orders are printed from the same files, so a second batch of ten or a few hundred matches the first. Lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.

How big can a single printed part be?

Up to 420 × 420 × 500 mm in one piece, which is large enough for most housings, panels and fixtures to be printed whole rather than split.
