3D Printing Bureau for the North of England
If your business is in the North of England, your nearest 3D printing bureau may be closer than the ones that turn up first in a search. HSK 3D LTD prints in Wigan, in the north-west corner of the region, and serves customers from Merseyside across the Pennines to Yorkshire, the North East and Cumbria.
Covering the North from Wigan
Wigan sits beside the M6, which makes it a practical base for sending work across the North. Finished parts go by courier to cities such as Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, York and Hull, and to the towns between them, as readily as they go to Manchester down the road. Delivery is costed into each quote, so there is no guesswork about getting parts to your door.
Capabilities at a glance
Whichever northern city or town you are in, the specification is the same:
- Process
- FDM (fused deposition modelling)
- Materials
- PLA — Display pieces, models and indoor parts where crisp detail and colour matter more than heat resistance.
- PETG — The general-purpose workhorse — tougher than PLA, handles moisture and moderate heat, good for functional parts.
- ASA — Outdoor and vehicle parts. UV-stable and weather-resistant, so it will not go brittle or fade in sunlight.
- TPU — Flexible parts — gaskets, bumpers, grips, protective sleeves and anything that needs to bend or absorb impact.
- Max build size
- 420 × 420 × 500 mm — large parts in a single piece
- Colours
- Up to 8 colours in a single part
- File formats
- STL, STEP and 3MF
- Job types
- One-off prototypes and repeat production runs
- Turnaround
- 3–5 working days for standard jobs. Lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.
What “print bureau” means here
The term covers any workshop that prints to order, but bureaus differ a great deal in what they run. We are an FDM bureau: parts are built layer by layer from thermoplastic filament. That suits functional components, jigs, enclosures, display pieces and prototypes that need to be handled and tested, not just looked at.
Work that suits the region
The North still makes a great deal — automotive and aerospace supply chains, food and drink, chemicals, and a long tail of engineering firms and workshops. The parts that kind of work needs in small numbers are a good fit for a print bureau: locating jigs, guards, cable management, replacement covers, short runs of brackets. They are exactly the jobs where a moulded version would need tooling that a short run cannot justify.

Turnaround across the region
Standard jobs take 3–5 working days, and that does not change depending on whether you are in Lancaster or Leeds — the printing is the same, and the courier cost is simply included in your quote. Bulk orders are different: a run of several hundred parts is planned around part size and print time, so lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.
North of England print bureau FAQs
How long does a job take?
Standard jobs are turned around in 3–5 working days. Larger quantities take longer, and lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request once we have seen the part and the numbers.
Can you print more than one colour in a part?
Yes — up to 8 colours in a single part. That is useful for labelled controls, branded display pieces and colour-coded fixtures, where printing the colour in avoids painting or stickers afterwards.
Which materials do you print in?
PLA, PETG, ASA and TPU. PLA suits prototypes and visual models, PETG is tougher for functional parts, ASA copes with outdoor and UV-exposed use, and TPU is for flexible parts. If you are unsure, tell us what the part has to do and we will recommend one.
